I'm Ryan Dalton, a product engineer who ships.
From driving tractor-trailers to building software people pay for. I run a web dev business with real clients and real revenue. I build with Next.js, Flutter, and whatever gets the product into users' hands fastest.

About Me
The non-traditional path is the differentiator, not the footnote.

Product Engineer & Builder
I served in the U.S. Army Reserves, spent a decade driving tractor-trailers, then taught myself to code and never looked back. I went through App Academy in 2021 and have been shipping software since.
Today I run Mosaic Ridge LLC, a web development business with paying clients, Stripe Connect subscription billing, and automated analytics infrastructure. I also work as a frontend developer at Federated Auto Parts building cross-platform UI with Flutter. The business isn't a side project. It's proof that I think about products end-to-end, from billing to delivery.
Before that, I led a team of six engineers at Agility Consultants where we cut page loads from 30 seconds to 3 and improved query performance by 10x on a high-traffic SharePoint system.
I'm looking for roles where shipping real products matters more than debating architecture. Product Engineer, Developer Advocate, Solutions Engineer, or any team that values builders.

Work Experience
My professional journey and the companies I've had the pleasure to work with.
Built and operate a web development business serving small businesses. Designed and implemented subscription billing with Stripe Connect (3 tiers), a client dashboard with authentication, and automated weekly analytics email reports via cron-based pipelines. Real clients, real revenue, real infrastructure.
Building cross-platform UI for the Federated Parts Catalog using Flutter and Dart. Developing the parts browsing and ordering experience used by automotive professionals.
Led a team of 6 engineers while contributing directly to code. Redesigned a high-traffic SharePoint-based system by replacing individual fetch calls with batched queries, cutting page loads from 30s to 3s and eliminating frequent query overloads.
Mentored junior and full-stack developers through pair programming. Contributed directly to Next.js frontend and Python backend features while establishing code quality practices across the team.
Refactored legacy codebases using profiling tools and modern design patterns, achieving 8x performance gains. Built applications from detailed functional specifications.
Conducted mock technical interviews (system design, DS&A) and provided debugging support. Mentored 250+ engineers in a peer mentorship role.
Built tactical bridges in high-stress environments. Eight years of team coordination, decision-making under pressure, and logistics. Skills that transfer directly to shipping software under deadlines.
